The golden path

Jana and I are finally on our way down El Camono Real.   Our goal is to walk as far north on it as we can and as long as our feet can carry us,  from our home in Santa Clara onward to the Ferry Terminal in San Francisco, some 49 miles up the road.  We are estimating a 4-5 day walk, but our feet are relative neophytes to the walking experience, so we shall see how it goes.    First days are usually easier on the body,  and its the second and third days where the true physical toll of the enterprise begins to reveal itself.

Asked for a special green banana at the starbucks, and now we are on our first break, 3+ miles on.  Jana with her recently liked chocolate drink.  Me with an awake tea.   A banana and pistachio nuts round out our meal.  Both of us staring down into our phones.  Jana says the AC is cold.
